Today was a great day for so many reasons!
We had over 140 kids show up for the VBS where today they learned that "Jesus is Father" thru the teaching of the lost sheep and the lost coin. We also experienced our first typical Irish day as it was grey and a bit rainy throughout the day. The day started off just grey and cool, but by the time our second rotation was about half way thru, we had to move the activities group from outside on the "pitch" (soccer field) in to the "hall" (gym). If you use the word field and gym, although the Irish kids know what you are talking about, they give you a hard time about it!
After camp we had a bit of free time before the first night of our teen outreach began!
We weren't real sure what to expect as far as turn out for the teen outreach, but when the kids started coming, we were all amazed. We had over 40 kids tonight at the teen outreach and we can't wait until tomorrow. Please be praying that they come back and not only that, but that they would bring their friends along as well!
Tonight, we played a get to know you game with all the kids from the community which was a blast. Then we had worship, both Evelyn and Jacob shared their testimony and Nate taught on the first part of 2 Timothy 1:7 on how power can overcome fear. The theme FEARLESS for the FLOURISH Youth Camp seems to be touching so many people, including many on our team.
While some of our team may be a little weary, we are excited for what the Lord has in store for us tomorrow! At the VBS, our team will be teaching "Jesus is Love" as we teach through the story of the prodigal son. The teens will be taking a look at how love overcomes fear from 2 Tim 1:7!
